FAQ

Do I need to book accommodation in advance?
Accommodation in Nesat Village can often be fully booked during parts of the high season (December – March). If you’re visiting during this period, booking in advance is highly advisable.Outside of high season, you can usually find accommodation upon arrival without a prior booking. However, for peace of mind, pre-booking is always a good idea.

Nesat Village offers a range of accommodation options, including private rooms, bungalows, family rooms, dorm beds, and private home rentals.

Whether you’re looking for a short stay or a long-term rental, multiple businesses are available to meet your needs.

The majority of guesthouses have high-speed internet and either AC or fan rooms.
For long-term stays, it’s best to reach out directly to guesthouses to inquire about availability and pricing.

There are no ATMs available in the village, so it’s best to come prepared and bring the cash you need. Smaller denomination notes are preferred, as businesses have limited change available. If you have a Cambodian bank account, you can pay using the QR code at each business.

We do not have international credit card or debit card capabilities available.
The closest ATM to the village is 19 km away in Srae Ambel , roughly 25 25-minute drive from the village.

There is a Wing shop a short distance from the village where you can exchange larger notes for Khmer Riel.

Yes, rental services are available within the village. Check the directory for bike rental contacts or speak with your guesthouse about hiring a motorbike.
    • Cash: Bring enough cash for the length of your stay, as ATMs are not available in the village. You can pay using the QR code at each business if you have a Cambodian bank account.
    • Insect Repellent: Given the tropical environment, mosquitoes and insects are common, especially during the evening. It’s best to bring repellent; however, you can purchase it at one of our nearby minimarts.
    • Torch/Flashlight: While streetlights are available in parts of the village, bringing a torch is a good idea. As we are located in rural Cambodia, you might encounter areas with low lighting and critters you’ll want to spot ahead of time.
    • Water Bottle: Many businesses offer water bottle refills. We are working to reduce plastic waste in the village, so bringing a refillable water bottle will help keep our village clean and reduce waste.
    • Personal Medications/First-Aid Kit: It is always a good idea to bring personal medications or a small first-aid kit for minor injuries.
    • Swimwear: We have plenty of beautiful beaches nearby and a lagoon to explore, so don’t forget your swimwear!
    • Sunscreen: While there are minimarts in Chrouy Svay that sell specialty items like sunscreen, it’s a good idea to bring your own to ensure you’re protected.

The best time to visit is from early November to late April during the dry season. This period offers the best weather for outdoor activities and exploration.

If you visit outside of these months, you may experience some rain. However, the heaviest rain typically occurs from August to October.

During the rainy season, the village still has lots to offer. While some businesses are closed, you can still find many options for accommodation and food.

Expect a quieter, more communal vibe, with plenty of nightlife and activities to choose from. 

Several pharmacies are located nearby in Chrouy Svay, just a 3-minute drive from Nesat Village. For medical attention, you can also visit a clinic in Chrouy Svay.

For more serious medical needs, there is also a hospital located in Srae Ambel (location here).

The primary languages spoken in Nesat Village are English and Khmer. However, due to the diverse nature of the village, you’ll also often hear other languages being spoken, including German, Swedish, French, Italian, and many more.
